Treasure Island's Holiday Boat Parade is like Las Vegas on the water - dazzlingly decorated boats of all kinds circle the city on one special night, Sunday December 14, 2008, in friendly competition for top prizes awarded that evening at the Treasure Island Tennis & Yacht Club.
Residents with Treasure Island waterfront homes host humungous boat parade parties but if you haven't received an invitation, not to worry - there are plenty of prime viewing spots on the island.

Best public viewing areas for the
Treasure Island Holiday Lighted Boat Parade
  • 115th Avenue on Isle of Palms
  • Treasure Island Causeway Bridge
  • Kingfish Drive at John's Pass (Gator's Cafe & Saloon)
  • Blind Pass Bridge (between Treasure Island & St. Pete Beach)

Parade departs the TI Tennis & Yacht Club at 6:20pm
Parade arrives at TI Causeway Bridge at 7pm
Parade ends at 8:15pm at John's Pass

The Treasure Island Causeway Bridge will close to vehicular traffic at 7pm on December 14, 2008 for approximately 30 to 45 minutes to allow the boat parade to pass through.

The holiday celebration at the Treasure Island Tennis & Yacht Club (400 Treasure Island Causeway) begins at 4:30pm.

Bring a new unwrapped toy for the Christmas Toy Workshop to the TI Recreation Department at City Hall (120 108th Avenue) or to Treasure Bay Golf & Tennis (10351 Paradise Boulevard) between now and December 7th to receive a Family Admission Pass to the TI Tennis & Yacht Club Holiday Party.

There is live entertainment, a visit by Santa Claus, complimentary clam chowder, hot dogs, dessert, hot apple cider and coffee. A cash bar (very popular) is also available.

Contact Parade Captain Les Lathrop at the yacht club at
727-367-4511 ext. 236 if you would like to become a sponsor.
