Community Improvement Department
The Treasure Island Community Improvement Department is one of ten City departments. Its functions include activities related to development services, long-range community planning, economic prosperity, and neighborhood stability. The CID provides all development related services in one location including building permits, building inspections, business licenses, housing services, plan checking, planning permits, economic development, and other general services.
Building Division

The Building Division reviews permit applications for compliance with all applicable State and local building codes (building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and energy efficiency) and regulations. Planning Division

The Planning Division provides information on land use, zoning, site development standards, general plan policies and Commission directed study issues. The planning division also processes applications for land use related permits. The planning division can be reached at (727) 547-4575 ext. 241
Digital document policy begins July, 2008 The City of Treasure Island Community Improvement Department will begin requiring all submitted plans and drawings in a digital format. A CD or DVD will do just fine, using jpegs for photographs and a .pdf, .tif or .dwg for plans and drawings. This digital requirement does not change any City requirements for document hard copies and the CD or DVD becomes property of the City of Treasure Island. Your questions? Answered! IMPORTANT PERMIT FEE CHANGES New fees for permits in effect The City Commission has amended the fee schedule for a variety of permits including building, plumbing and electrical permits and Planning and Zoning Board, variance and special exception fees. |

This site has a variety of maps. For detailed existing land use, click on "General County Map." First time users will have to install the GIS Map Viewer - it takes just a moment.
Once the map displays, use the magnification tool and zoom in on Treasure Island. As the streets appear on the map, you will see the the PARCELS header appear on the menu at left. Double click on PARCELS. A sub menu of items such as addresses, property values and zoning will appear. Check the box next to item you wish to view and it will appear on the map.
Under Florida law SB 80, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public-records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead contact by phone or in writing.
