BICYCLE & PEDESTRIAN SAFETY WORKSHOP
Tuesday, May 15, 2012, 5:30pm, Treasure Island Community Center, 1 Park Place & 106th Avenue, Treasure Island. A 30 minute program covering Florida bicycle laws, traffic crash statistics and demographics for bicyclists, and important safety tips for riding in the roadway and on the sidewalk. All attendees will receive a reflective slap bracelet or reflective backpack, bike/pedestrian law enforcement guide and safety tip bookmarks. Reservations required. BANDS ON THE SAND 4
Saturday, May 26 & Sunday, May 27, 2012, Noon to 9pm, on the beach at 104th Avenue & Gulf Boulevard, Treasure Island. Two days of live rock, blues, pop, Americana and alternative country on the beach. Saturday, Exchange plays rock 'n' roll covers at noon, the teenage sensations Sound Parlor play classic rock and originals at 1pm, Hubbtones rock out with the searing guitar work of Jerry Outlaw at 2pm, Sunza Beaches bash out sunny beach-life songs at 3:30pm, Have Gun, Will Travel bring their hooky Americana songs to the stage at 5:15pm, and Steve Arvey's Horn Band swings the blues and soul at 7:15pm. Fireworks at 9pm, or close enough. On Sunday, Shoeless Soul opens at noon with original jazzy feel-good music, Jubal's Kin play their Appalachian-infused cosmic Americana at 1pm, Sarah Mac Band plays laid-back jam-pop at 2pm, The Human Condition plays roots rock 'n' roll at 3:30pm, Funky Seeds smoke the stage at 5:15pm with reggae grooves, funk, blues and latin jazz, and Tampa Bay's jamband masters Cope play at 7pm. Food, drink and concessions available. All-day parking on the beach $10 (enter at 112th Avenue & Gulf Boulevard). No pets, glass, camping or fires on the beach. Free. Saturday, June 2, 2012, 1pm to 8:30pm, on the TI Beach Trail between 104th and 108th Avenues, Treasure Island. Do some arts and crafts shopping, enjoy a bite to eat and listen to some live, local music along Treasure Island's .85 mile long beach trail on the first and third Saturdays of June and July. Over 30 vendors. Park on the beach for $5. Parking entrance at 112th Avenue & Gulf Boulevard. Live music at 1pm from Paul Anthony Band and Rendezvous at 5pm. Sunset at 8:23pm.
