Elnor Island cleans up well
40 more volunteers removed another 4 tons of marine debris at the second Elnor Island cleanup on June 28th. To volunteer for the next Elnor Island Cleanup on July 26, call Bob Minning at 727-343-4499.
Sea Oat Planting in August
Volunteers are planting protective sea oats along a stretch of Treasure Island beach on Saturday, August 9th beginning at 8:30am. Volunteers need to bring a shovel and meet on the beach by the Island Inn, 9980 Gulf Boulevard. The 12,000 seedlings are provided free of charge by the Pinellas County Coastal Coordinator.

U.S. citizens planning international travel may apply for their passports and passport renewals Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm at Treasure Island City Hall, 120 108th Avenue. Appointments are strongly recommended and can be made by calling 727-547-4575.

July is Register Online Month
To be eligible to vote in the August 26th Primary Election, you must be registered before July 28th. Find out what's on the August 26th ballot by clicking here. To vote in the November 4th General Election, you must be registered by October 6th.

New boat registration fees in effect
A new fee schedule for Florida boat registration went into effect July 1st. For information about this or other Tax Collector services, visit the website at www.taxcollect.com
Reclaimed water unavailable between 10am and 4pm
Drought and reclaimed water popularity has taken its toll on the system, says Pinellas County Utilies, who ask Treasure Island and south county residents to conserve and NOT use reclaimed water between 10am and 4pm, the time of day with the highest evaporation. The system will continue to operate normally prior to 10am and after 4pm.
Lights Out for sea turtles!
Beachfront property owners are reminded it’s time for “Lights Out for Sea Turtles!". Treasure Island has an ordinance in place prohibiting lighting that casts glare onto the beach. During turtle nesting season thru Nov. 1, turn the “Lights Out” after 9pm. To report a sea turtle nest call (727) 441-1790, ext. 224.
John's Pass Channel closed during early morning hours
As the bridge deck construction progresses on the new John's Pass Bridge, channel closures are necessary Sunday nights through Thursday nights until July 2008. No boats will be permitted to travel under the bridge from 1am to 1:30am and from 10:30am to 11am. Boats that do not require a bridge opening are permitted to travel under the bridge from 1:30am to 10:30am.
