Offense Location: 9000 block of Treasure Island Beach

The Treasure Island Police Department is investigating the theft of a dinghy and outboard engine.  The theft occurred in the 9000 block of the Treasure Island Beach on March 23, 2008, between the hours of 10:00 pm and 10:30 pm.  The 10’2” inflatable dinghy is grey with the bottom painted black.  The registration number on the side of the dinghy is FL8030NP.  The HIN (hull identification number) is WMPB030JF404.  The Mercury engine is a 4-stroke, 9.9 HP.  Also stolen with the dinghy is a Canon Digital Camera.

The theft was reported 9 days later as the owner wanted to look for the vessel in hopes it would wash up on shore.
