The Treasure Island Police Department has received a complaint from a city resident concerning the theft of diesel fuel from a vessel.

Some time between May 31, 2008 and June 4, 2008, a person (s) siphoned approximately 300 gallons of diesel fuel from a vessel docked behind a residence on Paradise Island in the Blind Pass Inlet.  The value of the fuel is approximately $1500.00.  There have been no other incidents reported to date.

As fuel prices rise, especially diesel fuel, please be careful to safeguard and secure your vessels and vehicles to prevent these economically driven crimes.  If you have any information regarding this theft, please contact the Treasure Island Police Department at 727-547-4595.
