DEPARTMENTAL
Keep abreast of new technologies, provide technology that the City can afford while maintaining the legacy systems, support Department Heads with new technologies
BUDGET
Create and administer the IT budget
CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
Nortel Phone System, DSL Service (Internet Service Provider), Clock Tower Carillon, Cell phones, Enterprise Technology, (MyFlorida-State), Florida Interop – (Florida wide emergency communication network)
NETWORK
Maintain the City’s Email systems and Network Equipment,
File and Web Servers, Firewalls, VPN’s, DSL Circuits, Routers, Switch’s/HUB’s, Backups, Off-site storage, Contingency Planning, Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations
PC/DESKTOP
Maintain PC’s, Peripherals, Operating System, software in a three year rotation program
DATABASE ADMINISTRATION
Maintain: Virus Protection (Symantec Antivirus Corporate Addition), Spam/Junk Email Filter System, FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) Systems and Access. (FDLE Certification), Pinellas County Access for TIPD, High Technology Forensic TIPD support (Certified), POS (Point of Sale) system at Treasure Bay, Pinellas County access fo
r Finance Department, Public Works GIS, Custom Application & Form support
PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE
Supervise/Manage PIO and assist and backup all PIO duties: Press Releases, Website, TV Screens, ASCAP Licensing
WEATHER
Maintain the City’s Weather Station, data transmission to NOAA, Web Weather Page, Assistant Stormready administrator, reporting and infrastructure needed for the city be a “Stormready” certified City. Station Manager of our Government Access TV Station, produce video & City Meetings, Maintain station equipment
VIDEO SECURITY
Engineering and Maintenance of the City’s Video Security Systems
EOC COMMUNICATIONS
Provide: direct support to the EOC Director (Chief Fant), any and all means of communication, internet communications during a disaster, portable network solution, alternate Radio and Nextel solutions
PUBLIC RECORDS

Assist requests for Electronic Data, Email, Video Recordings
FORENSICS
Provide expert Forensic support to the Police, Maintain: Certification (Certified High Tech Crime Investigator), FDLE Certifications
COMMUNICATIONS
Maintain FCC licenses for Marine VHF radio.
