Hurricane "tax holiday" now thru June 12th
The Florida
Legislature approved a sales tax holiday so you can stock up on
tax-free hurricane supplies now through June 12th. During this
12-day period, hurricane preparation essentials, such as batteries,
weather radios, generators, shuttering materials up to $200,
coolers, etc., can be bought sales tax free.

Reclaimed water runs dry for south county
communities
Reclaimed water to southern Pinellas
County, including Treasure Island, will no longer be available
between 10am and 4pm. Continued high reclaimed water usage in South
County has placed demands on the system that can no longer be
sustained. The shutdown began earlier than expected due to
overwhelming demand.
Calling all phone books
When new phone books appear on
your doorstep, you can recycle your old phone books instead of
trashing them. Two nearby phone book recycling locations are:
Pasadena Community Church, 112 70th Street South, South Pasadena and
Sweetbay Supermarket, 6095 9th Avenue North, St.
Petersburg.
