Fill the Boot for MDA
Treasure Island firefighters are out in force this weekend collecting money in the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Fill-the-Boot campaign, benefitting families here in Pinellas County. Look for your TIFD firefighters at 107th and Gulf Boulevard March 28th thru 30th.

Beach Exercise Class
For moms of all ages, this outdoor beach exercise class is mat Pilates based class. Babies 8 weeks to non-crawling are welcomed to attend the class with mom. Classes start April 15th from 9:30 to 10:30am on the beach at 104th Avenue & Gulf Boulevard. Info: 727-547-4575 exr. 237

Business tax break deadline April 1st
What many people do not realize is that business owners also pay property taxes on the value of their personal property – things like office furniture, computers, copy machines and cash registers.  One of the provisions of Amendment 1 provides for a $25,000 Tangible Personal Property Exemption. The deadline to file for this exemption is April 1.

TI voters on March 11th returned Commissioners Ed Gayton and Alan Bildz to two year terms. In District 2, Gayton defeated Larry Lunn 250 to 86 votes and Bildz beat perennial District 4 candidate Don Callahan 162 to 72. Voter turnout was 23% for the Gayton/Lunn matchup and 19% for Bildz/Callahan ...
