Elnor Island cleanup gets
underway Volunteers needed
Saturday, May 10th to help remove marine debris from the
John’s Pass mangrove key. Volunteers should bring their own work
gloves, sunscreen and bug repellent and rubber-soled shoes or boots.
Meet at 8:30am on Saturday, May 10th at the Gator's Marina docks
adjacent to Kingfish Park, just past Gator's Cafe & Saloon on
Kingfish Drive.

Special
Downtown Redevelopment Workshop
The City
Commission will discuss a proposed contract with HDR, Inc. to assist
the city in preparing required capacity analysis, comp plan
amendments and zoning regulations needed to implement the
recommendations of the downtown redevelopment plan. This meeting is
scheduled for 6pm on Wednesday, April 23rd at Treasure Island City
Hall
New
fees for permits in effect The City Commission has amended the fee schedule for a
variety of permits including building, plumbing and electrical
permits and Planning and Zoning Board, variance and special
exception fees. |

bit of Buffett with a gallon of Gill and a sprinkle of Skynyrd.

- The Mad Beach
Band, the top drawing party band on the beaches
during the 1970's and early 80's, reuniting for Treasure Island’s
Sun, Sand & Swing with their laid-back Floribbean stories and
attitude intact - 6:45pm
- The velvety, swinging
sounds of Lounge Cat, a
versatile six piece playing Blues, Jazz, Swing, Ska, Standards,
Motown and Latin numbers - 5:15pm
- The Suncoast Dixieland
Jazz Band, a spicy dish of bayou and beach jazz -
3:45pm
Music plays from 3pm until 11pm with
professionally produced sound and concert stage lighting. Concert is
on the Treasure Island beach at 104th Avenue and Gulf
Boulevard.

Pavilion Tuesday morning for a new reality show
"Highway 18." The show debuts on July
8th. Early morning beachwalkers were treated to the
sight of the big Buccaneer pirate on the beach as part
of the TV show backdrop ... The Sunset
Beach Annual Bar-B-Q is Monday, April 14th
at the Lion's Club ... A new local newspaper, The Barrier
Islands Gazette, debuts April 16th.
