On Monday, October 4, 2010, at 11:50 pm, Treasure Island Police Officers responded to a reported hit and run traffic crash involving a pedestrian in the 11700 block of Gulf Blvd.
 
Treasure Island Police Officers conducted an investigation and determined that 34 year old Duane L. Blakey of Gulfport was walking southbound in the northbound travel lanes of Gulf Blvd.  Blakey was struck by a small, red hatchback style vehicle.  Witnesses reported that the vehicle may have been a Nissan or a similar sized/type vehicle.
 
Blakey suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Bayfront Hospital.  Blakey’s condition was listed as stable as of early this morning.
 
The suspect vehicle continued travelling northbound on Gulf Blvd.  The vehicle had dark tinted windows and may have significant damage to the hood, windshield and front end as a result of the crash.  Witnesses were unable to provide any description of the driver or occupants.
