The Impacs band is a family affair started in 1960. Long-time Treasure Island residents may remember The Impacs early gigs at Treasure Island youth dances. The band rocked their way across America back in the 60’s on the Dick Clark Caravan of Stars and now, some 40 years later, are still going strong. The Impacs are currently touring Florida and Georgia with The Impacs Rock & Roll Revival, playing music from 1956 to the year 2000 with an Old Fashioned Street Dance Theme. They made a stop on Treasure Island for Rock Around the Clock on Saturday, April 28, 2007.

Also appearing at Rock Around the Clock was Bruce Nye the Elvis Guy, voted in 2006 as the Best Local Entertainer in The Reader's Choice Survey of Paradise News . This is the third year in a row that Bruce has received this award. If you are looking for a place to take a load off your “blue suede shoes”, pull up your beach chair and enjoy our favorite Elvis show. You won’t be sitting long – Bruce Nye the Elvis Guy rocks like The King.

During Rock Around the Clock, downtown Treasure Island restaurants offered a
full menu and outdoor dining. The “adult
beverage” tent was open 5:30pm to 11pm and operated by the Isle of Palms Civic Association.

Stuff for the kids to do included face painting, balloon twisters, games, a fortune teller, caricature artist and mini-train rides.
