Think of it as a beach picnic with the Tampa Bay Symphony dropping by to entertain you and your buds. That’s the beauty of Sun, Sand & Symphony, Treasure Island's longest-running and best-loved kick-off to summer.

Sun, Sand & Symphony, now in its 12th year, is Friday, May 25, (5 to 10pm) and Saturday, May 26 (1pm to 10pm) on the beach at 104th Avenue & Gulf Boulevard in Treasure Island.

This year, the 2007 Sun, Sand & Symphony gets back to the musical roots that people appreciated most: drag a cooler, some beach chairs and an umbrella to the beach and kick back with an afternoon and evening of music; then ooh and ahhh at the fireworks at 9pm.

Food and drink is, of course, a staple of Sun, Sand & Symphony. You can either fill your picnic basket and cooler, or pick up some burgers, snacks and drinks from several concession tents on the beach. The beer and wine tent is very popular.

Parking directly on the beach at the concert site is available Saturday only for just $5. Parking entrance is at 112th Avenue & Gulf Boulevard (across from the Waffle House) Click here for map.

Some tips for the concerts:

  • Arrive early. It's a big beach but the best spots fill up fast.
  • The Suncoast Beach Trolley stops directly at the concert site at 104th Avenue & Gulf Boulevard. Both northbound and southbound trolleys make stops at :20 and :50 of every hour. Trolley service begins at 6am and runs until midnight.
  • It's worth it to stay to the end. It's nice to walk on the beach in the evening while the traffic on Gulf Boulevard clears.

Music Schedule
