Treasure Island celebrates America’s 235th Independence Day Fireworks display at 9pm on Monday, July 4th!
Caribbean Cowboy breezes to the beach with tropical rhythms beginning at 3pm on Sunday, July 3, 2011. Then, America’s #1 Elton John tribute band, The Rocket Man Show starring Rus Anderson as Elton John, brings Sir Elton's music alive before your eyes with costume changes and an unparalleled rhythm section. The Rocket Man Show starts at 6:30pm. Come early, as the beach will fill fast for this show. After the show, relax on your beach chair or blanket with Seaside Cinema, a free movie on the beach at 9pm, showing the PG-rated ”How to Train Your Dragon,” a soaring movie of dazzling animation with surprising dramatic depth, and thrilling 3-D sequences. Get ready for an all day party on Monday, July 4, 2011 beginning at 1pm with surf rockers The Tridents. Kick up some beach sand with ska, reggae and tropical rock from Tropical Disturbance at 4pm, and get out your red, white and blues with the Rebel Pride Band at 7pm, Tampa Bay’s down–home American rock ‘n’ roll best. While the kids play, shop at the arts and crafts mall, featuring glass and metal jewelry, glow novelties, tie-dyed outfits, wind chimes, and yard art from nearly 40 local crafters. The food court is open all three days, too, with all kinds of tasty beach picnic foods, fruit bowls, candies, and cold treats. All “A Rockin’ Red Glare” shows are free and on the Treasure Island beach at 104 th and Gulf Boulevard, behind the Bilmar Beach Resort. Beach parking is $10 per day; parking entrance at 112th Avenue & Gulf Boulevard. Additional parking on July 4th only at the Treasure Island Community Center lawn for $5, and in the Community Center lot for $4.
