The city of Treasure Island to Host a Flood Insurance Seminar

The city of Treasure Island will host a Flood Insurance Seminar to provide an overview of flood insurance information, upcoming changes to FEMA’s Risk Rating 2.0 (FEMA’s new rating methodology), and FEMA’s Flood Insurance Rate Maps. The seminar will cover how these changes will affect flood insurance premiums and property valuations for property owners, renters, and business owners throughout Treasure Island. Those interested in learning more are invited to attend the seminar on Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 120 108th Ave.

Flood mapping is an important part of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), as it is the basis of development regulations and flood insurance requirements. Guest speakers will include Jim Everett of Great Florida Insurance, Jake Holehouse of HH Insurance, and city and county officials.
