Treasure Island is known as the Sand Sculpture Capital of Florida, and the Parks and Recreation Department prides itself on hosting one of the most family-friendly and creative competitions in Pinellas County and the State of Florida. According to Destination Analysts, last year's 2021 Sanding Ovations Presents Sandlantis had an estimated economic impact of over $9.4 million and over 42,500 visitors to Treasure Island and its surrounding communities.
The highly gifted sculptors travel every year from all over the world to showcase their talents here in Treasure Island, the Sand Sculpture Capital of Florida.
