Treasure Island is many things to many people. It is a vacation destination for some, the "let's go to the beach" destination for mainlanders, a "night on the town" locale for others, the "Sand Sculpture Capital of Florida" and, of course, it is home to many thousands of people from all walks of life. Treasure Island is located on a barrier island and it has nearly four miles of gulf beachfront running the entire length of its city limits. Visitors who stick to Gulf Boulevard, the main road, are often surprised to learn that there are over 5800 single family dwellings in Treasure Island. The U.S. Census takers tell us that our population is around 6735. There are a whole lot other interesting numbers about Treasure Island HERE.

Treasure Island life is characterized by the following:

  • Easy access to shopping: Publix has a new grocery store in the City and there are a number of smaller markets.

  • City provides access to the beach or bay at every stub end street.

  • A strong city government with its own police, fire/paramedic, award-winning public works and recreational departments to serve the public.

  • A municipal golf course (9 holes) and tennis complex at Treasure Bay Golf & Tennis.

  • Diverse choices for dining - all types of cuisine available.

  • A great City-owned auditorium and community center that can be rented for special occasions.

  • Thousands of hotel rooms for visitors - from multi-story hotels to quaint "mom & pop" motels.

  • Friendly locals who, with a smile and a "hello", share their love of the area, whether native Floridians or transplants from colder climates.
